The Demons come to steal Clepsydra's secrets and conquer the planet, which is divided in two different emispheres with distinctive features, yet intertwined by a 'time cage' of sort, which governs the planet's axis. The Axis rotates every 888 days (which is the length of a Clepsydrian year), moving anti-clockwise. There are two years: a warm one (in the northern emisphere) and a cold one (in the southern emisphere).
At the center of the axis, there is a place where everything revolves in a loop.
The Demons want to trap Clepsydrians in this zone and colonize the planet.
Their aim is to spread darkness on both emispheres, destroying the dual, delicate balance of the planet by merging its two emispheres, thus condemning all Clepsydrians to live trapped in the loop zone for eternity, and using them as a perpetual source of energy, exploiting their secret knowledge about health and youth.
The Demons begin to spread a disease which immobilizes Clepsydrians in a status of apparent death, thus making them slip towards to center of the axis, where they will remain trapped in the limb of a non-place.
